1922 Exhibit card of Sherrod Malone (Sherry) Smith, pitcher for the 1911 Greenwood Scouts. Card depicts Smith with the Brooklyn Dodgers. At the close of the 1911 Greenwood baseball season, Smith was promoted to the Pittsburgh Pirates, a jump from Class 'D' Ball to the Major Leagues. In the 1916 World Series, pitching for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Smith lost a 14 inning pitching duel to Babe Ruth, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
