Interesting Facts:

Fred Waters and Carl Tumlinson were named to the 1951 Cotton States League All-Star team. Waters and Dick Gray both went on to play in the Major Leagues.

Carl Tumlinson was killed in action in Korea on April 6, 1953.

2B Bobby Bonebrake led the league with 78 stolen bases.

Pitcher Fred Waters led the league with a .917(11-1) winning percentage.

The new Legion Field that was built in the fall of 1950, to replace the former stands, built in 1935, that were destroyed in a fire.

This is a photo of the new Legion Field, built in the fall of 1950 to replace the former stands, built in 1935, that were destroyed in a fire. The new stadium was used by the Greenwood Dodgers for the 1951 and 1952 seasons. It was torn down in the early 1960s to make way for the expansion of Supreme Electronics.
