New York, Sept. 26--SPOONER ADDS TO HIS LAURELS--Karl Spooner, rookie lefthander, cuts one loose against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Ebbets Field, Brooklyn, N.Y., today. Spooner, who struck out 15 batters in his major league debut against the New York Giants last Wednesday, struck out 12 Pirates in today's game. His total of 27 strikeouts in two consecutive games is a new national league record. He also recorded his second consecutive shutout as the Brooklyn Dodgers downed Pittsburgh 1-0.
